5 November - 16 December, 2020 Worldwide
Co-curated by Anzhela Popova , Tatiana Antonova
When conceiving the theme for this exhibition we could not have chosen a more pertinent title, as the year of 2020 is the year when we have all spent time adjusting to life in our own bubbles. From the beginning, we envisioned Four Rooms as a place where contemporary art, craft and design could be presented together in a balanced and harmonious way. In contrast to a usual gallery setting where art and crafts are often not shown together with equal parity, we aim to create an intimate experience of visiting a home or a salon, where pieces gracefully co-exist with one another.
New online exhibition Four Rooms will allow the visitor to see four curated themes in one virtual space: Dazzling Metal, Elemental, Explode the Colour, and Into The Forest.
Dazzling Metal celebrates this most versatile of materials with work by sculptors and designers, such as Angela Conner, Thomas Joynes, Ben Rousseau and Hélène de Saint Lager.
Elemental focuses on the beauty of raw materials such as timber, plaster and clay with an array of works that includes pieces from Riccardo Monte, Valéria Nascimento, Hélène de Saint Lager, Ivan Belyaev, Alena Muhina, Yulia Batyrova and Masha Kolosovskaya.
Explode the Colour explores the power and vibrancy of pure colour, with contributions from Jessica Zoob, Hélène de Saint Lager, Daniil Andropov, Kirill Basalaev and Francois Patoue.
Into The Forest takes the visitor on a journey to the enchanted, natural world with selected pieces from Carolyn Quartermaine, Jacky Puzey, Joy de Rohan Chabot and the studio of Darwin, Sinke & van Tongeren.
Collaboration with London Connoisseur

London Connoisseur was founded by Helen Chislett, who has built up a considerable reputation writing about luxury design and decoration for international publications, including the Financial Times’ award-winning magazine ‘How To Spend It’. Having forged strong relationships with artists and makers over many years, whose work she has passionately championed within her features, she set out to create a service that connects superb artisanship with those seeking extraordinary and exceptional star pieces. The high standard of curation is a direct result of Helen’s own ‘black book’ of highly respected makers.
