Bio

Aljoscha is a contemporary Russian and Ukrainian artist, sculptor. He was born in town of Glukhov, Ukraine, 1974. Educated at The Düsseldorf Art Academy, Germany (2001-2002 class of prof. Konrad Klapeck) and at The International Summer Academy of Fine Arts in Salzburg, Austria (2006 class of Shirin Neshat & Ehoja Azari). The first prize was awarded in sculpture “XXXV Premio Bancaja”, Valencia, Spain.

Aljoscha develops the ideas of bioism and biofuturism. Bioism is the direction in the modern aesthetic studies that explores creation of new life forms. His conceptual sculptural installations are a symbiosis of art and science. Flexibility and variety of the using materials are the main features of the artist. He creates his living organisms usually by adding small quantities of the paint to an object, hence growing it gradually. Another favorite technique of Aljoscha is interventions and unauthorized actions.

Participant in more than 80 exhibitions including 33 personal ones (mainly in Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, Russia). Inart rating “top 100 recognized authors” — № 21
