Bio

Fedora Akimova was born in 1987 (Kiev, Ukraine). She graduated in 2008 from The Kiev Institute of Publishing and Printing with the degree in graphic arts. She then moved to St Petersburg where she had been living from 2011 to 2017 while also studying Theatre and Scene design at The Repin Academy of Fine Arts. She has been living in Moscow since 2018 where she graduated from The Free Workshops (MMOMA).

Fedora creates hypnotising blurred landscapes with delicate ornaments sewn on to canvases. Sewing as a specific medium used in her paintings brings strong emotions. Every canvas turns into an intimate dialogue connecting the viewer to the inner world of the artist. Landscape for Fedora has become a meditative site and a research field. The blurred effect is meant to distance a viewer from a specific location, time or idea and intensify personal emotions.

The paintings by Fedora Akimova are presented in private collections in Poland, South Korea, USA, France, United Kingdom, Australia, Denmark, Ukraine and others countries.
